continue to thrive every year, beginning with:
The Spring Meeting, which since 1969 has traditionally been held at Burford Golf Club for the Committee Cup.
Mixed Greensomes, wherein members invite lady guests as partners, playing for prizes only
President’s Day, when members meet at the home club of the current President since 2000 and play for the President’s Trophy
Captain’s Day (formerly the Summer Meeting) is played on the current Captain’s home course for the Sillence trophy.
The Autumn Meeting since 2007 is an individual event for the Honey Trophy, and also since 1969 a team event, with the best three Club scores to count, for the Powell Cup.
The Founders’ Cup is an event played since 1991 that is restricted to current and past Presidents and Captains of Oxfordshire Golf Captains and current committee members.
The Hookham Trophy is awarded annually to the member who returns the best aggregate two scores from the four open meetings.
The first Annual Dinner was first held at Drayton Park Golf Club on the 30 October 2001 and although the venue has changed to the Oxfordshire Golf Club, it’s popularity, both with members and their guests, seems to grow each year. Much the same can be said for the thoroughly convivial Winter lunches, first held in 1998, which are enjoyed within the home clubhouses of the Captain and the President, usually in January and March every year.

The Foreign Trip
John Moore, who proposed and offered to organise a foreign golfing tour to celebrate the millennium, began the most recent addition to our golfing itinerary. Since that first successful venture to France, around 20/25 members have visited France or Belgium each year to enjoy a few convivial golfing days together and another trip to Brittany has been arranged for 2010.
